Intestinal digestible bypass protein

The fraction of intestinal digestible bypass (feed) protein is the fraction of rumen undegradable protein that can be digested by the small intestine. It is calculated from the protein content, the percentage of resistance, and the digestibility of the rumen undegradable protein. The digestibility of the rumen undegradable protein (%) is determined using the mobile nylon bag technique. The amount of protein recovered in the manure is the non-digestible portion.
