S-plant available

Sulphur (S) is an essential nutrient and, like nitrogen (N), part of soil organic matter. The part that is mineralized is called S-plant available (mineral-S). The amount of S-plant available will often be very low when temperature is low (no mineralization). S-plant available often ranges between <10 to 100 kg S per hectare. Higher amounts are found after, for example, recent gypsum applications. S-plant available will leach easily.
