N-supplying capacity

The N-supplying capacity is the amount of nitrogen (N) from organic matter that will be mineralized during a year when a field would not be fertilized. The N-supplying capacity ranges generally between minus 40 and 300 kg N per hectare. A minus sign indicates N-sequestration. The actual supply in any given season is dependent on a aspects such as temperature and moisture.
